Wasco Recreation & Park District is currently hiring experienced officials/umpires for our youth Little League baseball and softball programs.

We are looking for dependable and knowledgeable officials who can help provide a safe, fair, and positive experience for our young athletes.

Responsibilities

• ⚾ Officiate youth baseball games
• 🥎 Officiate youth softball games
• Enforce Little League game rules fairly and consistently
• Maintain control of the game and promote good sportsmanship
• Make fair and impartial calls
• Communicate respectfully with players, coaches, and the Little League Coordinator
• Help ensure games are conducted safely and according to schedule
• Work cooperatively with other officials/umpires
• Report any game-related issues or concerns to the Little League Coordinator

Qualifications

• Previous officiating/umpiring experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of Little League baseball and/or softball rules and game procedures
• Ability to make fair and consistent calls
• Strong communication and decision-making skills
• Dependable and punctual
• Comfortable working with youth participants, coaches, and parents
• Professional and positive attitude
• Ability to maintain control of the game while promoting good sportsmanship
